Golfer’s elbow
Also known as medial epicondylitis.
Overuse syndrome of the flexor-pronator mass origin.
Less common than lateral epicondylitis
Associated conditions : ulnar neuropathy, ulnar collateral ligament insufficiency ( check for valgus instability)
Symptoms
insidious onset pain over medial epicondyle , worse with wrist and forearm motion , worse with gripping
tenderness 5-10 mm distal and anterior to medial epicondyle
soft tissue swelling and warmth if inflammation present
Conservative treatment: Activity modification, ice, NSAIDS, physicial therapy, extracorporeal chock wave therapy, steroids injection
Surgivcal ttreatment : Open debridement and reattachment of flexor-pronator mass after 6 months of failed conservative treatment
